Eleven days ago I announced the Peace Racket Briefing as a weekday paid Substack at $96 per year.
The shakedown period taught me what I needed to know: weekly serves this product better than weekday. This is a recalibration, and I want to name it honestly rather than let it happen quietly.
Why the change
The Briefing is a pattern-observation product. It reads across international sources, names what the American mainstream press downplays or leaves off the page, and holds the for reasons to be determined discipline where causation is not yet established. That work is not news-cycle work. It is week-cycle work.
A weekday cadence would have made the Briefing thinner every day. A weekly cadence lets it do the synthesis it exists to do — hold a whole week’s patterns against each other, watch the loud stories and the load-bearing stories move in relation, and deliver the observation the reader could not have made from one day’s coverage alone.
The choice is not about my calendar. It is about what the Briefing is for.
The new terms
Every Saturday morning.
$49 per year, or $5 per month billed monthly.
First Saturday of every month is free — the discovery anchor. Every other Saturday is for paid subscribers.
Same five sections: Regional Roundup, The Down Low, The Unanimity, Poker Face, The One Paragraph. Same Author’s Addendum. Same Blocked Sources anti-bibliography.
What paid subscribers get
Every Saturday Briefing in your inbox by mid-morning. Full text, full analysis, full Author’s Addendum, full anti-bibliography. Complete archive access.
The three-product architecture stays clean
Free Peace Racket Missives continue on their existing periodic cadence for anyone who wants them. The Briefing is paid. The books are paid. Three products, one voice.
Why this exists
Because what the American press is not saying is significant, and the reader is entitled to see it. Weekly is the honest cadence for that work. Saturday morning is when I can hand it to you at its best.
The first Saturday Briefing under the new cadence lands tomorrow — Saturday, August 29, 2026.
